NAME OF ACTIVITY:   WHAT ABOUT YOUR PHYSICAL FITNESS LEVEL?

DESCRIPTION :

The correct function of all our body systems is necessary for a plenty life: to study, to practice sport, to walking, to living at all.

The body ability for overcoming depends on our Physical Fitness.

Physical Fitness, in general terms, is a person’s ability to meet the physical stresses and demands of a variety of physical activities efficiently and effectively. Physical fitness provides a person with the capacity to perform work safely in activities of daily living, including activities required for work at home and in the workplace, for leisure-time pursuits, and for sports.

We can resume that Physical Fitness is how “in shape” you are

 

The principal aims of Physical Fitness are:

 

Improve our performance in Sports and Physical Activities

 

Maintain good health and prevent diseases

 

Physical Fitness is the sum of two groups of capabilities

 

1. BASIC PHYSICAL QUALITIES or CAPABILITIES

2. PSICHOMOTOR QUALITIES or CAPABILITIES

 In our school we work basic physical qualities

1. ENDURANCE is the ability to exercise the whole body for long periods of time. It is sometimes called stamina.

2. FLEXIBILITY is the range of movement possible at a joint.

3. STRENGHT is the amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance.

4. SPEED is the differential rate at which an individual is able to perform a movement or cover a distance in a period of time or how quickly an individual can move whole body for long periods of time. It is sometimes called stamina.

For knowing our physical fitness level, we need tests and a scale

We have chosen some physical condition tests to evaluate our level of fitness

and we have prepared presentations to show the tests to our partners: purpose and objective, how to do it…

If you want to evaluate your physical condition with these tests and share your results with us, we can compare and analyze the results concerning genre, country, age… and, at least, prepare a European scale for Physical Fitness Tests
